Thirty-four years ago, a young engineer, raised in Las Vegas and educated in Reno, opened Geotechnical & Environmental Services, Inc.  Over three decades later, this one-man shop is now approaching one hundred employees with four offices across 2 states.

Our second office opened in Mesquite with the location’s initial work coming from Pulte Homes, the firm’s first client.  Now open for twenty years, the Mesquite office has become the go-to team for clients in the region for all our services.

GES’ third office opened in Reno in the Fall of 2019.  The motive was to become a statewide firm.  How could we have known a COVID virus would arrive in Spring 2020 and slow the economy?  Five years later, our office and staff are an important part of the local Truckee Meadows community.

As we continue to pursue our vision of becoming a premier organization in the western United States, GES opened its first office outside of Nevada.  Our Hurricane, Utah location has been open for two years and has changed what project owners should expect from their Geotechnical Engineering and Environmental Consulting firms.  Our ability to respond to client needs and deliver a high level of services has changed the southern Utah business landscape. Professional services within the GES specialty areas can now be performed quickly for local municipalities, engineering consultants, and private developers.

Along the way GES’ sister company, Eagle Drilling Services, was created.  Having a geotechnical and environmental drilling company in the family has helped GES build collaborative relationships with our clients.  The increased levels of communication and cooperation has contributed to GES’ client success. With the opening of Eagle’s second location outside of Carson City, in Mound House, NV, Eagle has the ability to help service our clients across all offices.

Offices are great, but it’s our people who make us even greater.  Our people take great pride in their work and come to work each day in support of each other and their clients.  Perhaps this is why we have been recognized as a “Best Place to Work” both locally and Nationally for over two decades.

This month we celebrate starting our thirty-fifth year in business – Something we are all proud of.  What’s in store for year thirty-five?  More services? More offices?  More employees?  More happy clients?  We will have to wait and see. In this moment we celebrate the first thirty-four years, with an eye out for our next level of success.
