We are very proud to announce our fourth AASHTO accredited laboratory. Located in Hurricane, Utah, our newly accredited laboratory will help local, state and federal agencies in the greater St. George area design and construct roads, bridges and other transportation infrastructure.
Our laboratory now has the capacity and capability to perform soil testing for your projects in a timely, organized manner. You can have the confidence that the test was performed per specification, by approved, experienced staff, utilizing calibrated, maintained equipment.
AASHTO, the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, is a nonprofit, nonpartisan association representing highway transportation departments in all fifty states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. It represents all transportation modes: air, highways, public transportation, active transportation, rail, and water.
Accredited laboratories undergo rigorous third-party assessments. During these assessments the testing equipment is evaluated, and each test method is demonstrated in its entirety by the lab’s technical staff. The assessment also includes a thorough review of the laboratory’s quality management system. The thorough and vigorous process is why AASHTO is recognized as the standard for materials testing for transportation infrastructure with just over 2000 accredited laboratories across the country.
Along with the accreditation, bi-annual independent audits are performed and annually each test is performed on a specific soil sample and compared with all laboratory test results nationally.
With the additional accreditation, GES has AASHTO accredited labs at all four locations; Hurricane, Mesquite, Reno and Las Vegas.
