The APWA Nevada Chapter turned 60 this year—and GES showed up ready to celebrate in true diamond-studded style at the APWA Spring Conference in Laughlin!

With eight of our team members in attendance, including three who proudly serve on the Conference Committees (north and south), GES came out in full force to support this milestone event. We didn’t just attend—we showed up. As an exhibitor, GES created an eye-catching booth complete with a sparkling “diamond” theme, a nod to the 60th anniversary and our flair for fun. Our booth wasn’t just a place to drop off a business card—it featured a cozy “Chat With Us” coffee-style table and chairs setup, inviting both new and familiar faces to sit down, sip, and connect.

The conference kicked off with a bang—starting with a powerful keynote and Director’s Roundtable that set the tone for three days of innovation, inspiration, and collaboration. That evening, the energy turned festive at the carnival-themed BBQ. With live entertainment, games, great food, and lots of laughs, it was the perfect setting to network with peers from across the state.

GES’ own Art Greene presented “Soft Skills for the Budding Engineer,” a well-attended and highly praised session that highlighted the importance of communication, teamwork, and professional growth for emerging engineers in the industry.

A couple of projects that GES and/or Eagle proudly provided services on were in the running for Project of the Year honors and taking home some well-deserved wins!

The highlight of the banquet? Hosts Jeremy Leavitt and Gina Venglass of the City of Las Vegas emceed in full Elvis glam—because what’s a celebration in Nevada without the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll? It was a night to remember, complete with laughter, cheers, and lots of sparkle.

The conference wrapped after three jam-packed days of technical and professional presentations with one last touch of glitz—a diamond giveaway in honor of APWA Nevada’s 60th year.

We’re grateful to APWA Nevada for hosting such a fantastic event and proud to continue supporting this incredible organization that brings together leaders in public works from all over the state. Here’s to 60 years of excellence—and many more to come!
