General Job Description:
The Entry Level Lab Materials Technician is responsible for conducting comprehensive field observations and laboratory testing of construction materials in alignment with GES, Inc. quality standards and client schedules. This role involves testing materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and other specialized substances to ensure compliance with specifications. The technician will work closely with field and lab supervisors, project managers, and program managers to coordinate testing activities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform field/laboratory testing and prepare detailed reports summarizing construction materials field/lab testing and observations with quality and accuracy, delivering results on time
  • Obtain and maintain relevant certifications
  • Follow Safety Manual guidelines
  • Obtain field samples for laboratory testing and discuss scope of laboratory testing with the Project Manager; communicate proactively with dispatch, managers and clients to discuss progress of field work
  • Maintain testing equipment and related housekeeping tasks in a thorough, efficient manner
  • Demonstrate and foster a positive work environment
  • Show commitment as a team player
  • Represent themselves professionally to internal and external clients
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education, Knowledge and Skills Desired

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Drivers license
  • ability to take and pas written and performance-based evaluations
  • Math and measurement skills: attention to detail in record keeping

Pay Range:

$18-$19 per hour
