When was the last time you thought about where your groceries came from? At GES, most of our employees have given this extra thought this year. This is because GES has provided construction materials testing and inspection at a Smiths/Kroger grocery store in each of our four locations.
In Southern Utah, we provided services from the ground up. A brand new grocery store is under construction in Cedar City with our scope of services beginning with the grading phase and continuing through quality assurance inspections. Inspections include structural steel, epoxy and mechanical anchors and structural masonry.
In North Las Vegas, GES provided similar ground up testing and inspections at the corner of Revere Street and Tule Springs Parkway, adding a much needed grocery store in a very busy portion of the city.
In Las Vegas, a Smiths store/fuel center is opening at Jones Boulevard and Vegas Drive with the assistance of GES. Our well trained staff works to keep construction moving forward according to the approved specifications and plans.
In Northern Nevada, work on a grocery store/fuel center is being carried out in a Carson City parking lot, where GES provides qualified field personnel for soils, concrete and asphalt sampling and laboratory testing in line with Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction Orange Book.
With the holidays right around the corner, it is important for people to have access to grocery stores, and GES is actively helping to build communities and increase food availability and opportunity for all. It is our hope that through these continued development efforts, GES may help to put a turkey or food on your table this year, next year, and in the years to come!
