Since its opening, Interstate 215 proved to be a vital roadway connecting Henderson to the rest of the Las Vegas Valley, and as Henderson has grown, so has the volume of traffic on this important stretch of highway. Congestion has become an issue, especially between Pecos Road and Stephanie Street where rush hour commuters regularly found traffic crawling along, well below the speed limit.

However, with financial help from Clark County and the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, the end of traffic congestion is on the horizon. The City of Henderson has improvements underway that is sure to improve infrastructure and the quality of life for the countless drivers who rely upon the stretch of roadway for their commute.
Once completed in 2028, there will be two additional lanes in each direction to significantly increase capacity and help with traffic flow in and out of Henderson. Getting onto and off the freeway will also be easier. On and off-ramps will receive upgrades and the busiest set of ramps at Green Valley Parkway will see a new diverging diamond interchange. This popular design allows vehicles to seamlessly turn left onto freeway on-ramps without stopping, reducing congestion on surface streets.
Additionally, a new pedestrian bridge will be built over Green Valley Parkway connecting both sides of the District at Green Valley Ranch and offering pedestrians a safe crossing over the heavily driven surface street.

Please drive safely along this stretch of road during construction. You’ll find GES field staff working hard day and night, observing construction and collecting samples of construction materials for our accredited laboratory to test. All of this is being done to make sure our roads are built according to plan.
In an already rewarding industry, it is both a privilege and a responsibility to provide our services for such a crucial project for the community.
